Main Street Disneyland At Night

I like the store fronts on Main Street in Disneyland and how different they look at night with the interior lights coming from the inside out to the sidewalk. Also being able to see the exterior lights that are supposed to get your attention to make you want to go inside. One of my favorite things is the Coca Cola light that is hanging at the entrance of the refreshment stand in the first image. These were all taken around midnight just as the park was closing.

Reiff's Station

I visited Reiffs Station in Woodland California it is Mark Reiff's home filled with vintage gas pumps, signs and many other collectibles. He has turned his house into museum that captures the past of the service stations, burger joints, a movie theater as well as an unfortunate voyage of a plane and car. I saw many gas pumps from Shell, Mobile, Chevron, Texaco, Sinclair, Sunset, Sun Ray, Gilmore Oil Company of California that started in 1936 (which was purchased by Socony-Vacuum in 1940) and later became the Mobilgas, Sky Chief (Texaco), Beacon, Gulftane (Gulf merged with Standard Oil in 1985), Richfield, Flying A (Tide Water Petroliun founded in 1887 in New York) and Go Farther. The gas pumps he has were manufactured by Erie, Tokheim, Bennett, Wayne and National.

He has vintage signs from Standard Oil, Union Oil, Phillips 66, Magnolia Petroleum Company, Socony,  Aircraft Oil, Sunoco, Macmillan Ring Free Oil, Wolfs Head Oil, Royal Triton Motor Oil, Nic L Silver Battery's, Tydol Gasoline, D-X Gasoline, Skelly, Havoline, Firestone Tires, Cooper Tires, Fisk Tire, Holman Scales, Sunbeam Bread, Blatz Beer, Coco Cola, Thirsty Just Whistle Soda, Carling Black Lable Beer, Teem Soft Drink and Kik Soft drink (1995).

In the driveway he has a Milton Driveway Bell (which I stepped on a couple of times and it scared me), old Penzzoil oil cans, Coke and Pepsi in wooden boxes and glass bottles. On the roof he has a Bob's Big Boy statue. In a bar he has an antique National Cash Register.

His movie theater has a marquee with Rebel Without A Cause a poster from West Side Story and Tucker.

Red Horse Drive In Ellensburg Washington

I have passed through Ellensburg many times not knowing that I was less than a quarter mile from the Red Horse Drive In that has a vintage Mobile Gas Station right next door. It's a 50's style diner with plenty vintage signs to see. The food is is great and they had so many malt or shake flavors to choose from.

Owl Soda Fountain Wenatchee Washington

This is the Owl Soda Fountain in Wenatchee Washington its a place where you still can get an old fashion old-fashioned ice cream soda, ice cream sunday, milk shake and many other things from the past. It has resisted the change of fast food places like Mc Donalds and many others and stuck with the traditional way things were made. Not the cheaper faster ways of the bussiness world thats what probably what has kept them around for 107 years. Taste and quality still matter! I was told it has the been open since 1921. The Wenatchee World had an article dated 8/1/2012 (a few days after this photo was taken) states it was open 1894 in various locations. The Owl Soda Fountain is located just down the street from my last post Wenatchee Gas Station Restored located at  25 N. Wenatchee Ave.

Barns of Petaluma

Here are a few of the barns I saw in Petaluma. I am sure you could spend a lot of time there shooting many others. This is just from a couple of days shooting. I just took off and drove around during sunrise and sunset. No plan just luck.

I wish I could of got the shot I saw when I drove up! I almost did't process this shot because the shot I missed. This is a single shot from a RAW file. I did it from a single file because of the movement. Thats why I always shoot RAW when I am doing HDR. You just don't have enough information when you shoot .jpeg files to process a single file.

This is the first barn I saw and could not wait to get a shot of it.

This isn't a barn, but when I passed it I could hear my wife Carol saying I want that house even though I was not in the same car. When we stopped she told me that she wanted the yellow house in the vineyard. I grabbed this shot on the way home. I did not spend enough time on it. I wish I would of moved in closer to the fence and trees and got another shot.
