Chopped Trucks 20th Good Guys Car Show in Pleasanton California

I was walking through the cars at the 20th Good Guys Car Show in Pleasanton California and saw the truck in the first image drive into a row of them and knew I wanted to get a shot of it. So I followed the noise because I could not see it and eventually caught up with it and got the shot. I also found a whole row of chopped trucks in the second image.

From The Air

Here are few shots I got from the air on my trip to Oklahoma from Concord California. The first six images are over Utah and the first three are near the Bryce Canyon Airport. I have always wanted to spend more time in Utah, I have made a brief trip through it and want to go back and explore. It was great to see it from the air and get some shots from a different perspective.

It was very interesting  to watch the clouds as we flew through them. A photo does not do it justice. We were in the clouds for an hour or so and I quickly fell a sleep because there was nothing but white to look at.

Antioch Bridge spans San Joaquin River and connects Antioch California with Sacramento County.

Tesoro Golden Eagle Refinery in Martinez California you can see the Benicia–Martinez Bridge and the Carquinez Bridge in the background.

Just Plane Crazy

I recently flew out to Yukon Oklahoma with a friend and his wife on their plane a Socata TBM 700. When we landed we saw this plane and I shot this image just after getting out of the plane. I wished I could of processed it and sent it to my wife so I could of tell her this was the plane we flew out there on. The plane looks like it has seen better days, it had three flat tires and was quite tattered. It looks like it has not flown in quite some time. The second image shows the plane we flew on being fueled at the Bryce Canyon Airport.

Texaco in Yukon Oklahoma on Route 66

This restored Texaco is on Route 66 in Yukon Oklahoma. Yukon is home to Garth Brooks. I found some friends I have been looking for for about twenty years and mutual friend flew us out on his Socata TBM 700 to meet them. It was great to see them again. I also got to go to the State Fair and visit my Aunt in Oklahoma City.

All My Friends Know A Low Rider 1963 Chevy Impala

I saw this 1963 Chevy Impala at the Midnighters 17th Annual Downtown Martinez Car Show. This car reminds me of the years I spent in Martinez California. Low riders were all over the place it seemed like almost every other house. I never did understand why someone would spend so much on hydraulics, but I can think of a few purchases I made to later regret. Im also sure people have questioned a few of my purchases too. Besides the car does look pretty cool like this and I thought would make a great image.

The car also reminds me of the beginning of the Cheech and Chong movie Up In Smoke. Thats not too far off from most of the low riders that were in my neighborhood. Here is the scene that it reminds me of.

Its In The Trunk 1930 Ford

I saw this 1930 Ford at Midnighters 17th Annual Downtown Martinez Car Show. I showed my daughter where the term trunk came from. I liked the duck stick shift and the suicide knob. On this car my my Sigma 17-35 mm lens decided to start giving me trouble by the end of the day I had another paper weight. I've had since 2003 and it took a break when I had my Canon 20D. It actually messed up the picture with the trunk, the images were so sharp it showed every dust spec on my lens sensor ect (it looked like someone took a shot gun to the image with all the dust specs). I spent a lot of time on the image because I wanted a shot of the trunk and the owner (Bob) was looking forward to seeing the images.

West Woodin Street Bridge Chelan Washington

This is a backup shot I had planned after a shot of the head of the lake fell through. The day we got to Manson Washington the sky was filled with cumulus clouds that were a bright pink. I hoped for the same thing with no luck for the rest of the trip.  The bridge is on West Woodin Street in Chelan Washington.  The resort at the far in the bridge is Campbell's. I shot three slightly different composition bracketing for HDR and plenty of the same exposure so I could pick and choose the final shots to be used in the final HDR image.
